These Terms of Use (“Terms”) form an agreement between you and Iron Quill Games Co. (“Iron Quill Games,” “we,” “us,” or “our”). By accessing or using this website, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the website.

These Terms are intended for visitors worldwide. Mandatory rights available under the laws of your country or region are not excluded or restricted where they cannot legally be waived.

1. Eligibility and Authority

You may use this website only if you can legally enter into these Terms. If you use the website on behalf of a company or other organization, you represent that you have authority to bind that organization to these Terms.

The website is intended for a general audience and is not directed to children under 13. Minors should use the website only with the involvement of a parent or legal guardian where required by applicable law.

2. Website Purpose

This website provides information about Iron Quill Games, our studio, Forlazia: Shards of the Veil, products in development, design updates, community activities, business opportunities, and related projects.

Unless a page expressly states otherwise, website content is informational and does not constitute an offer to sell, a binding product specification, professional advice, or a guarantee that any product, feature, campaign, release date, component, price, or service will become available.

3. Changes and Availability

We may add, remove, suspend, update, or discontinue website content or functionality at any time. We do not guarantee uninterrupted access or that every feature, link, file, or service will remain available.

We may restrict or block access where reasonably necessary to protect the website, users, Iron Quill Games, or third parties, or to comply with law.

4. Limited Permission to Use the Website

Subject to these Terms, Iron Quill Games grants you a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable permission to access and use the website for personal, informational, and other lawful non-commercial purposes.

You may share links to publicly available pages and quote brief excerpts for commentary, news reporting, review, or discussion where permitted by law, provided you accurately identify Iron Quill Games as the source and do not imply endorsement or affiliation.

No other license is granted by implication, estoppel, or otherwise.

5. Intellectual Property

The website and its content—including text, rules descriptions, lore, characters, game systems, names, logos, artwork, graphics, photographs, layouts, icons, videos, audio, downloads, and other materials—are owned by Iron Quill Games, licensed to us, or used with permission and are protected by copyright, trademark, trade dress, and other intellectual-property laws.

Iron Quill Games, Forlazia, Forlazia: Shards of the Veil, associated logos, and related names and indicia are trademarks or proprietary identifiers of Iron Quill Games. You may not use them in a manner likely to cause confusion, suggest sponsorship, or imply endorsement without written permission.

Except as expressly permitted by these Terms or applicable law, you may not copy, reproduce, publish, distribute, display, perform, modify, translate, adapt, create derivative works from, sell, license, commercially exploit, or remove ownership notices from website content without prior written consent.

6. Game Content and Development Materials

Website content may include prototypes, draft rules, work-in-progress art, preliminary component lists, design concepts, development notes, scenario descriptions, estimated timelines, or other materials relating to unreleased products.

These materials may change substantially before publication. Images may show prototypes or development assets rather than final components. Any timing, pricing, quantities, features, manufacturing plans, crowdfunding plans, or product descriptions are estimates unless expressly identified as final and binding.

References to third-party products, platforms, creators, conventions, or services do not necessarily indicate sponsorship, endorsement, partnership, or affiliation.

7. Acceptable Use

You agree not to:

• Use the website for unlawful, fraudulent, deceptive, or harmful activity;
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to systems, accounts, data, or networks;
• Interfere with, damage, overload, or disrupt the website or its security;
• Introduce malware, malicious code, automated attacks, or harmful material;
• Scrape, crawl, harvest, download in bulk, or systematically extract website content except through ordinary search-engine indexing or with written permission;

8. Newsletter and Communications

When you join the Adventurer’s List or otherwise request updates, you authorize us and our email service provider to send the requested communications. These may include Forlazia development updates, art reveals, playtesting news, crowdfunding announcements, studio information, and future release information.

You may unsubscribe from marketing emails at any time using the unsubscribe link in the message. We may still send non-marketing messages necessary to respond to your request, manage your preferences, or meet legal obligations.

Communications are also governed by our Privacy Policy.

9. Feedback and Unsolicited Submissions

We welcome comments and feedback about our website and publicly described projects. However, please do not send confidential material, unpublished game designs, story concepts, mechanics, artwork, manuscripts, or other creative proposals unless we have specifically requested them or agreed in writing to review them.

We cannot guarantee that unsolicited creative submissions will be reviewed, kept confidential, returned, or compensated. Because we may already be developing similar ideas, the submission of an unsolicited idea does not create a confidential, fiduciary, employment, partnership, or compensation relationship.

For ordinary feedback you voluntarily provide, you grant Iron Quill Games a worldwide, perpetual, irrevocable, royalty-free, transferable, and sublicensable right to use, reproduce, modify, publish, translate, distribute, display, and incorporate that feedback into our products, services, and communications without compensation or attribution, to the extent permitted by law. This does not transfer ownership of independently created materials that are not submitted as feedback.

You represent that you have the rights necessary to provide any material you submit and that it does not violate law or another person’s rights.

10. Third-Party Services and Links

The website may link to or interact with third-party services such as social networks, BoardGameGeek, Discord, YouTube, TikTok, X, MailerLite, crowdfunding platforms, retailers, convention sites, and other external resources.

Third-party services are controlled by their operators and may have separate terms, privacy policies, availability, and security practices. Iron Quill Games is not responsible for third-party content, products, statements, availability, transactions, or practices. A link does not necessarily imply endorsement.

11. Future Sales, Preorders, and Crowdfunding

The website does not currently establish complete terms for a retail sale, preorder, pledge, or crowdfunding transaction. Any future transaction may be governed by additional terms displayed at checkout or on the relevant retailer, payment processor, marketplace, or crowdfunding platform.

Product-specific terms may address price, taxes, payment, shipping, delivery, cancellations, returns, refunds, warranties, risks, regional availability, and campaign fulfillment. If additional terms conflict with these Terms for a specific transaction, the transaction-specific terms control for that transaction.

Nothing in these Terms limits mandatory consumer rights, including rights concerning accurate pre-contract information, defective goods, statutory guarantees, cancellation, refunds, or remedies where applicable.

12. Disclaimers

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the website and all website content are provided “as is” and “as available,” without warranties of any kind, whether express, implied, or statutory.

We do not warrant that the website will be uninterrupted, error-free, complete, secure, free of harmful components, or suitable for every purpose, or that all information will remain accurate or current.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain implied warranties. In those jurisdictions, the exclusions apply only to the extent legally permitted.

13. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Iron Quill Games and its owners, personnel, contractors, licensors, and service providers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of data, profits, goodwill, opportunity, or business arising from or related to the website.

To the fullest extent permitted by law, our total liability for claims arising solely from your use of this informational website will not exceed the greater of US $100 or the amount you paid directly to Iron Quill Games for the website service giving rise to the claim during the six months before the event. Because access to this website is generally free, that amount may be zero except for the stated minimum.

These limitations do not apply where liability cannot legally be excluded or limited, including liability for fraud, intentional misconduct, gross negligence where applicable, death or personal injury caused by negligence, or mandatory consumer rights.

14. Responsibility for Misuse

To the extent permitted by applicable law, you are responsible for losses, claims, or expenses arising from your unlawful misuse of the website, your infringement of another person’s rights, or material you submit in violation of these Terms.

This section does not require a consumer to indemnify Iron Quill Games for conduct for which such an obligation would be prohibited or unfair under applicable law.

Our Global Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, disclose, retain, and protect personal information. It is incorporated into these Terms by reference to the extent applicable.

16. Governing Law and Disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Illinois, United States, without regard to conflict-of-law principles, except that mandatory laws of your place of residence may still apply.

Before filing a formal claim, you and Iron Quill Games agree to make a reasonable good-faith effort to resolve the dispute informally by written notice describing the issue and requested resolution.

Subject to mandatory consumer-protection and jurisdictional rights, disputes relating to these Terms or the website may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Illinois, and the parties consent to those courts’ jurisdiction.

Consumers in the European Economic Area, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Canada, Australia, New Zealand, or other jurisdictions retain any non-waivable right to bring claims or seek remedies in their home jurisdiction.

17. General Terms

If a provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, it will be enforced to the maximum extent permitted, and the remaining provisions will continue in effect.

Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign your rights or obligations under these Terms without our written consent. We may assign these Terms in connection with a merger, restructuring, sale of assets, or similar business transaction.

These Terms, together with the Privacy Policy and any applicable transaction-specific terms, form the entire agreement regarding use of the website and supersede prior website-use understandings on the same subject.

We may update these Terms to reflect changes in the website, our practices, or applicable law. Revised Terms will be posted on this page with an updated “Last Updated” date.
